Mass determination from Constraint Effective Potential
The Constraint Effective Potential (CEP) allows a determination of the mass and other quantities directly, without relying upon asymptotic correlator decays. We report and discuss the results of some mass calculations in λΦ 4 4 , obtained from CEP and our improved version of CEP (ICEP).
متن کاملConstraint Effective Potential of the Staggered Magnetization in an Antiferromagnet
We employ an improved estimator to calculate the constraint effective potential of the staggered magnetization in the spin 1 2 quantum Heisenberg model using a loop-cluster algorithm. The first and second moment of the probability distribution of the staggered magnetization are in excellent agreement with the predictions of the systematic lowenergy magnon effective field theory. We also compare...
متن کاملDetermination of effective mass density and modulus for resonant metamaterials.
This work presents a method to determine the effective dynamic properties of resonant metamaterials. The longitudinal vibration of a rod with periodically attached oscillators was predicted using wave propagation analysis. The effective mass density and modulus were determined from the transfer function of vibration responses. Predictions of these effective properties compared favorably with la...
متن کاملThe effective potential in the presence of several mass scales ∗
We consider the problem of improving the effective potential in mass independent schemes, as e.g. the MS or DR renormalization scheme, in the presence of an arbitrary number of fields with φ-dependent masses M i (φ c). We use the decoupling theorem at the scales µ i = M i (φ c) such that the matching between the effective (low energy) and complete (high energy) one-loop theories contains no thr...
متن کاملDynamical Mass Matrices from Effective Superstring Theories
We analyze the general structure of the fermion mass matrices in effective superstrings. They are generically given at low energy by non-trivial functions of the gauge singlet moduli fields. Interesting structures appear in particular if they are homogeneous functions of zero degree in the moduli. In this case we find Yukawa matrices very similar to the ones obtained by imposing a U(1) family s...
